What can you expect from a Midcoast Strength class? Camaraderie. Play. Crazy music. Nothing stays the same! We employ challenging exercises that focus on the 10 fundamental skills of fitness: cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, coordination, balance and accuracy. We utilize tools such as tires, sledge hammers, slam balls, heavy bags, ropes, suspension systems, push/pull mechanisms, kettlebells, barbells/bumper plates, chains, chin up bars, stability balls, sand bags, plyo boxes and other fun equipment to assist you in your training goals as well as conditioning you to be functionally fit.
You may be asked to flip a tire, roundhouse kick a bag or even jump rope double time! No worries though we show you skillfully all the steps along the way. Even the location changes up, as we enjoy taking our workout to the great outdoors every once in a while.
We LOVE our kettlebells and believe wholeheartedly in the fundamental role they play in functional fitness. We swing, clean, jerk, press, pass, push and flip these fabulous balls of metal for fun. In almost class, you will find at least one kettlebell exercise designed to challenge the core and the lower posterior chain. When appropriate weight and form is utilized, it is simply amazing the number of people who tell us how they have become stronger, faster and leaner just by using the kettlebell as a fitness tool.
Our classes are fast paced "In and Out" group workouts that follow the minimalist approach to time in the gym. You shouldn't have to spend hours working on staying fit. Full body workouts that combine strength and cardio are the answers for lean time schedules that most of us have.
Bring your towel, lots of water and a smile!
